Ahhh, Lido Key!
Lido Key, small as it is, has several popular districts. The most well-known is St. Armands Circle, a world-famous shopping and dining district. It is surrounded by a neighborhood of single family homes, many of which are waterfront. Lido Beach is a popular public beach, with a pavilion and public pool. Waterfront condominiums can be found along the beach south of the public beach area. There are a few waterfront public parks as well, where one can swim, sunbathe, picnic or launch kayaks and canoes. There is a neighborhood of 1950s-60s beach cottages nearby, popular for vacation rentals. On the north end is swanky Lido Shores, where textbook examples of The Sarasota School of Architecture can be found, along with a mixture of other styles of contemporary homes, many of which are waterfront. Lido Key is also the home of Mote Marine Laboratory.
