Many people have heard of The Florida Keys at the southern tip of Florida: Key Largo, Marathon, Key West, etc. But do you know about The Other Florida Keys? They're a breathtaking string of keys along Florida's west coast, beginning at the southern end of Tampa Bay and stretching southward down through Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte counties: Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key, Lido Key, Bird Key, Siesta Key, Casey Key and Manasota Key.
Now, let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a fifth-generation Floridian and a lifelong resident of Florida. My ancestors were pioneers of Pasco County (north of Tampa). I grew up in Temple Terrace, a suburb on the east side of Tampa.
My idyllic youth included spending summers on Anna Maria Island, going to Island Sundries or IGA for ice cream and Coppertone, spending all day barefoot on the beach, playing in the neighborhood around the current-day Sandbar Restaurant or going over to the City Pier. My family moved to Anna Maria permanently when I was in high school and I had the run of the island using the beach as the route to everywhere, if not on my bike or in my car.
Later I lived on Siesta Key for 9 years, where I enjoyed living steps from the beach. I also enjoyed bike riding through the interesting neighborhoods on the key and coming home from work and taking a relaxing walk on the beach and staying to watch the sun set.
Over the years, I also lived in Orlando, St. Petersburg, Bradenton, Ellenton and owned a home in Key West. I have lived in Sarasota since 1992 and owned the popular Nifty Nic Nacs gift shop in downtown Venice for 12 years. So I know the area!
Now, as your REALTOR®, I provide a "local's perspective" to potential buyers and sellers. Because of my early background in sales and public relations, I know image is very important.
